Jørn Utzon 1918-2008
Australia's signature building creator and Denmark's most inspired architect
Jørn Utzon passed away today at the age of 90 years old.
In 2003 the jury of the Pritzker Prize (architecture's highest honor) declared, in reference to the
Sydney Opera House,
"The marvelous and seemingly impossible in architecture can be achieved." Sadly Utzon never returned to Australia after he was forced to quit the project. In recent years the Opera House Trust made amends with him.

AN AGENT OF CHANGE
«Throughout history, design has been an agent of change. It helps us to understand the changes in the world around us, and to turn them to our advantage by translating them into things that can make our lives better. Now, at a time of crisis and unprecedented change in every area of our lives – economic, political, environmental, societal and in science and technology – design is more valuable than ever..»
